1. Finish trimming Lavender and taking cuttings.

2. Put old summer bedding on the compost heap

3. Sow lettuce in the greenhouse for winter cropping

4. Star planting your autumn bulbs but not tulips.

5. keep deadheading dahlias and roses

6. Pick autumn raspberries

7. Collect and sow seed from perennials and hardy annuals

8. Dig up remaining potatoes before slug damage spoils them

9. Keep up with watering of new plants, using rain or grey water if possible
